Budget

I'll fight to cut spending in order to balance the federal budget. With $17 trillion in debt, we can't afford to keep borrowing and spending more than we take in.

Senator Glenn Grothman has had the privilege of serving on Wisconsin’s budget writing committee, the Joint Committee on Finance, for the last two sessions. On the Joint Finance Committee, Senator Grothman saw firsthand the mismanagement of the state and the budget under Democrat Governor Jim Doyle.

Glenn was a leader in pushing to turn Wisconsin’s $3.6 billion deficit into a budget surplus. Glenn firmly believes that our elected officials must be good stewards of the people’s money. For this reason, he has been an outspoken critic of increased spending and new government jobs, fighting both during the debates over both the 2011 and 2013 state budget.

It's this experience and proven conservative track record that Glenn will bring to Washington. He will fight to reduce government spending, eliminate unused and unneeded government jobs, and implement a plan to reduce the burden of debt on future generations.
