Glenn Grothman wins Wisconsin GOP Convention straw poll

(Campbellsport, WI) – State Senator and 6th Congressional District candidate Glenn Grothman won his second straw poll in less than a week with a convincing victory among Wisconsin Republican Party convention-goers this weekend.  Grothman also won a straw poll held last weekend at the Ozaukee County Republican Party Lincoln Day brunch.

“I’m deeply honored that Republicans believe my record of leadership and accomplishments is one they want to send to Congress to tackle our country’s biggest problems - government dependency, the breakdown of the American family, and the unsustainable debt,” said Grothman.

“Since I entered the race, I’ve heard from folks in every county in the district that they want a fighter for conservative values in Washington, and that’s why my campaign continues to pick up steam with these back-to-back straw poll victories,” added Grothman.  “I look forward to bringing my message to every voter in every county over the next few months.”

The news agency WisPolitics.com conducted the straw poll and reported that 159 statewide voters chose Grothman with his closest opponent only taking 85 votes. Among 6th Congressional District voters, 44 chose Grothman and only 26 choosing his closest opponent. Find full results here.
