(Oshkosh, WI) – State Sen. Glenn Grothman is slamming Joe Leibham for taking the maximum contribution from the self-described “most progressive” union in the country.
“I am shocked that my opponent would accept campaign cash from this far-left union that was part of the siege on our State Capitol back in 2011. This group donates by the millions to Democrats and left-wing politicians, including Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Tammy Baldwin, and Russ Feingold,” said Grothman. “It’s truly disturbing that my opponent actually used this liberal union’s cash to run ads talking about how much he supports Act 10.”
“This is a classic status-quo politician move. Saying one thing while doing another,” added Grothman.
The latest filing with the Federal Election Commission showed he accepted the maximum $5,000 from the Laborers’ International Union of North America PAC, or LIUNA PAC. This group can be seen in videos and pictures as part of the siege on the State Capitol during the debate over the passage of Act 10.
Grothman is a Republican candidate for Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District. He currently represents the 20th Senate District in the Wisconsin State Senate. The 6th Congressional District includes the counties of Ozaukee, Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Winnebago, Dodge, Green Lake, Manitowoc, Marquette, Columbia, Waushara, and Milwaukee.
