(Oshkosh, WI) – State Sen. Glenn Grothman, Republican candidate for Congress, announced today that his campaign ended the final fundraising period with over $159,000 cash on hand, having raised nearly $95,000 from July 1 through July 23.
“The support we’ve received is truly humbling. I’m honored that so many Wisconsinites believe that we need a new kind of congressman in Washington. Someone who’s a proven and experienced conservative leader who will fight for our principles in Congress. With my track record in Wisconsin, voters can trust that I won’t be afraid to tackle the toughest issues facing our country, including reforming welfare, balancing the budget, securing our border, and getting the federal government out of our classrooms and businesses,” said Grothman.
“With over $159,000 cash on hand, our campaign is well-positioned for a resounding victory on August 12,” concluded Grothman. “To all of the people who have contributed their time, energy, and finances to our campaign – thank you. This wouldn’t be possible without you.”
Grothman also announced today that he put in $90,000 of his savings into the campaign in July.
“All my life, I’ve been a frugal person – never buying something I can’t afford, stretching every dollar I do spend, and putting away as much as I can. Today, I’m fortunate to be completely debt-free,” said Grothman. “Frankly, I’m looking forward to bringing my frugality to Congress to teach the federal government a thing or two about only spending as much as you take in.”
“These tough decisions over the years means that I’ve built up my life savings and I was able to match almost dollar-for-dollar the generous support we received in this fundraising period,” added Grothman.
Grothman is a Republican candidate for Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District. He currently represents the 20th Senate District in the Wisconsin State Senate. The 6th Congressional District includes the counties of Ozaukee, Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Winnebago, Dodge, Green Lake, Manitowoc, Marquette, Columbia, Waushara, and Milwaukee.
