(Oshkosh, WI) – State Sen. Glenn Grothman, Republican candidate for Congress, announced today that over 99 percent of the all of the donors to his campaign were from Wisconsin, underlining his greatest strength in the upcoming August 12 Republican primary election, his strong grassroots support that led to two straw poll victories early on in the campaign.
Over 830 donors contributed to Grothman’s campaign, with over 75 percent of all donations received being $100 or less. The campaign brought in over $147,000 in the reporting period.
Communications Director Brandon VerVelde released the following statement on the fundraising numbers:
“Glenn Grothman’s incredible grassroots support is shown again in this fundraising report. Over 99% of the donors to the campaign are from Wisconsin, and over 75% of the donations received by the campaign were under $100. The median donation was $75.
“As our opponents gear up for fundraising swings through Washington with DC insiders or prepare to write their campaigns another six-figure check, we’ll continue to rely on Wisconsin conservatives to lend their support for Glenn Grothman’s common-sense, conservative message.”
Grothman is a Republican candidate for Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District. He currently represents the 20th Senate District in the Wisconsin State Senate. The 6th Congressional District includes the counties of Ozaukee, Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Winnebago, Dodge, Green Lake, Manitowoc, Marquette, Columbia, Waushara, and Milwaukee.
