(Oshkosh, WI) – Rick Santorum, former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania and 2012 Republican presidential candidate, endorsed state Sen. Glenn Grothman for Congress today. Grothman (R – Campbellsport) is a conservative Republican running for Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District.
“Glenn Grothman’s bold leadership in Wisconsin is exactly what we need in Congress,” said Santorum (R – Pennsylvania). “Our country is at a turning point, and we need a principled conservative like Glenn Grothman to return our country back on the path to prosperity. Glenn has the courage and the conviction to stand up for conservative values.”
Santorum served in the U.S. Senate from 1995 to 2007 representing Pennsylvania. In 2012, Santorum was a candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States and became known as a voice for conservatives who didn’t feel their voice was being represented. In the 2012 presidential campaign, Santorum won 11 states and earned nearly 4 million votes in the Republican primaries. Santorum is the author of Blue Collar Conservatives released in April, 2014.
Grothman added: “I’m honored to receive Rick Santorum’s endorsement. He recognizes that the Democrats have driven our country to the brink of disaster, and we need strong conservative leadership to guide America back on the right track. When I get to Congress, I’ll always fight for conservative principles.”
Grothman is a Republican candidate for Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District. He currently represents the 20th Senate District in the Wisconsin State Senate. The 6th Congressional District includes the counties of Ozaukee, Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Winnebago, Dodge, Green Lake, Manitowoc, Marquette, Columbia, Waushara, and Milwaukee.
