(Oshkosh, WI) – Brandon VerVelde, Communications Director for Glenn Grothman’s campaign for Congress, released the following statement on the League of Women Voters forums in the 6th Congressional District race:
“Sen. Grothman will not be participating in the League of Women Voters forums as indicated by Sen. Leibham today. We, too, are very disappointed that the organization would release to the media that all candidates are confirmed for attending the July 14th event without actually confirming anything with our campaign.
“Senator Grothman values candidate forums and debates and has participated in several so far with more scheduled between now and election day, but doesn’t see it necessary to participate in a debate sponsored by an organization completely opposed to conservative Republican principles of election integrity, including common-sense bills authored by Sen. Grothman like requiring proof of residence when registering to vote and early voting uniformity, among others.”
Grothman is a Republican candidate for Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District. He currently represents the 20th Senate District in the Wisconsin State Senate. The 6th Congressional District includes the counties of Ozaukee, Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Winnebago, Dodge, Green Lake, Manitowoc, Marquette, Columbia, Waushara, and Milwaukee.
